Mixed Media Monday: Utee Transfer ATC & Altered France Box

FRANCE box with ATC: My Little French Monsieur

Hi everyone! I'ts another Mixed Media Monday here at KAndrew Designs!
I absolutely LOVE European decorating--my entire house has Eiffel Tower Large Paintings, Eiffel Tower sculptures, huge wrought iron metal cafe signs--you name it. I LOVE it!
Here is an ATC I created a while back using UTEE, an old photo, french script, and rubber stamp of eiffel tower. I used UTEE to transfer my designs, and embed them to make them appear "ghostly"--that is why so many images (if you look clearly) seem to be "hovering" upon one another.
The next was a box I created to keep my French themed ATCs in--it is an altered thin wooden cd box--using a mirage of methods--and the inside.

Enjoy!

All the best,

Tutorial: Journey-Leaving a Legacy

My Journey--the first page in my Legacy scrapbook

Hi everyone! Here is a quick layout for you--using the Sentimentals Cricut Cartridge. While I was at Crop out Cancer, I met two fabulous girls Chan & Christine. Chan was winning me over with her journaling--she was explaining how important it was for telling the story that no one sees. Then she told me that Christine had done an all about me album. This was intriguing for me--I've never scrapped myself--in fact I'm rarely in the albums--as I'm the one taking pictures.
Then last night I saw a movie called Unstrung Heroes--and my book began to take shape in my heart--which is where my journey always begins--when it takes shape there, I know I will finish it. I decided I definitly want my sons to know Me--not just the mom they see--but the person I am...so this is the very first page of My Journey.

Ingredients: Heidi Swapp World Traveler Papers (Old coat, dots, and compass)
Heidi Swapp World Traveler Extras (Glossy, and Clear)
Black Organza Dot Ribbon by Creative Impressions
Brown Doodle Clear Adehsive Border by Lucky You!
Owl, Victorian chair from Sentimentals Cricut Cartridge

If you do not have access to the Flap paper that I happen to luck upon, you can always make yours? How? Take a 4" x 12" Paper and "hinge" it to your main 12x12 page--using masking tape--one half of the masking tape on the back of the flap, 4x12, and one half on the back of the main page--voila!

GIVEAWAY---Leave me a comment and I'll send one follower who comments a set of the Lucky You adhesive clear borders (these are just so cool--because they look like doodles as they are completely clear on your papers--just loving these!!

All the best,
Kandrew

Hooty and Wee Hoot: Owl-Always Love You!

Hooty & Wee Hoot
Hello all my dear creative friends & readers! As you know, I've been taking a short break this week to visit with my dear sweet young son who has went thru a rough time with bullying. I've been saddened by this entire ordeal--my children sad because they can't go to their school anymore. It's very hard. So I made this sweet owl set to remind me that no matter what happens, I am my sons' protector and I will do my best to impart wisdom to them so they may grow to be young wise men, but also provide a wing of shelter and comfort to cheer them on when they need it.
Tomorrow is a new day, and I look forward to spending it at the bay with my sons and father--watching them fish. Then tomorrow night I plan on scrapping-- I'm not sure what in the world I will think up--but I plan on doing something!
Here is my layout I just finished!!!

Owl-Always Love You layout page
PS if you are looking for this file--it's not on a cartridge, but one I created myself called Hooty Owl and you must have scal or mtc or another digital diecutting program to cut it.

Pink Blog Party: Day One: Tutorial: Pink Paper Party Badges & Giveaway

PINK PARTY PAPER BADGES (say that three times fast)

Let's KNOCK OUT Cancer! I made these super cute pink party badges for my first tutorial in
my Cancer Awareness Pink Blog Party! Scroll down to the next post to find info on the Pink Blog Candy!
Aren't these paper badges the CUTEST? These would be awesome for awards, parties, you name it! They are also EASY peasy and FAST! Just down my alley!
Okay I ran over Youtube's alloted 10 minutes, so my hubby had to edit it and the first one was a "hot mess", so we edited it again (it's still choppy & nutty), and it's uploading right now to youtube!
****Okay video is a little (well alot) choppy from my hubby having to edit it for youtube's time allotment--bare with me*****
PS I chose the flourish I did on Accent Essentials because to me it looks like two boxing gloves in the middle--does anyone else see that???

I created a paper "rosette" by accordion folding dotted paper and gluing together, then I created a circle and scalloped circle shadow to top off the rosette. I then doodled on the top circle using my cri-kit pens, the sentiment Knock Out and the swirls using scal for the first one. On the second one, I used Accent Essentials to cut the circle and shadow. Then I used All Mixed Up to doodle the sentiment using the pink metallic cri-kit pens. Then added pink ribbon behind the rosette--and voila!

Ingredients for Paper Badge:
Scal Badge-Scal file--download here FREE
Cricut Cart Badge- I used Accent Essentials-- I used the scallop circle shadow and the circle
You can use any cricut cart that has a circle and shadow (try a sun shaped shadow, etc)
Pink Polka Dot Paper--You will need TWO 5x6 squares (I'm so sorry I have no idea who this is by)
Pink Ribbon (I like the wide ribbon) by Offray (yes Walmart special--teehee)
Cri-Kit gel pens to doodle on the title and designs
Pink paper flourish, optional (I used Bazill papers)

GIVEAWAYS!!! Knock out Dollies & Flip Flops---Don't forget to LEAVE me a comment! I'll send ONE follower the cute little pink knockout girls (there are only 6 so not enough to split as I stated in the video--but I'll have more giveaways each night this week!) AND ONE follower the 6 flip flops!!! So two super cute embellishment sets for TWO followers who comment!

Each day's tutorial and giveaway will get better and better! wooooohooooo!!!!

All the best,
Kandrew

On coloring the vellum, any permanent ink will work. You can see I chose to ink the back of this one too--but only on the letters--which is easy to do with ANY alcohol based marker like Sharpie, Copics, et

Embossing & Cutting with Your Cricut

Happy Halloween Jack from Spooky Sentiments cut file
Hi guys! I'm so excited because I want to share with you how to emboss and then directly cut with your Cricut using SCAL. I've used the Jack O Lantern part from the Spooky Sentiments file set. I'm using GOLD foil from Cri-Kits, the embossing double sided mat from Cri-Kits, and the Embossing Tip and Pen Holder from Cri-Kits. I've used my SCAL program which you know I think is PRICELESS! K & Company Blog Candy Winner!

First off you will not believe this--the first two people were  anonymous--so I couldn't contact them--then the next 10 people Random picked--didn't have my badge on their blog (that was the ONLY thing I asked if you had a blog) or were NOT followers...so finally Random picked #54 and she had my BADGE on her blog--right up top so it couldn't be missed and was a follower! WOOHOO!!

Congrats to #54 LISA of Shop2udrop blogspot! So if you know Lisa, tell her to get over here because she won!

Please contact me at kristalstamper@yahoo.com within ONE week with your mailing address to claim your awesome 730 pc blog candy! WOOHOO

Only 40 more followers till I post another awesome Blog Candy Package--so make sure to post my badge and invite anyone you think might enjoy my silliness! If you don't have a blog (make sure you say so under the comments on the next blog candy!)
