Simply Sunday Challenge: For the Birds...His Eye is on the Sparrow

Hi everyone! Your favorite bird brain here on a fabulous Sunday! Ever notice the best things we save for Sunday? heehee!
First I want to announce the winner of the Simply Sunday All a Flutter Challenge.......
#39 Rachel Miller. Here is Rachel's winning card!

Congratulations Rachel! Please email me your name, item won (Butterfly Stamp Collection), mailing address, your email for your Guest Designer Blinkie,  and let's get together for your Guest Design Spot here at Getting Cricky!
Now for today's post.....
Ooops...forgot to announce the winner for the felt butterfly collection...#9 PurpleLadyBug said...

Gorgeous card, but then again everything you create is goregous :) TFS Still waiting for my craftroom to get finished up...all my supplies are packed away :(

I chose birds today because one of my favorite hymns is His Eye is On the Sparrow. Here is just the first few verses. If you arent' a churchy person--that's okay. I'm not religious--or churchy (I'm not wrapped up in formalized religion--to clarify). For those that might not be a Christian, that's okay. I am open hearted--you are my friend. I don't believe in judging anyone other than myself. If I can't remove the log from my eye, trust me...I'm not going to try to remove the toothpick from  yours.
What I am is myself, and I share what I feel... I have a personal relationship with Him, Jesus Christ. This of course spills over to every area of my life...
I remember hearing this song since I was very small. Being raised in the South, my grandmothers would sing to me while we would work and do chores. If you have never heard of this, please feel free to click the video link.

Why should I feel discouraged,
Why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart feel lonely
And long for Heav'n and home,
When Jesus is my portion?
A constant Friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches over me;
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me

Now that we are all feeling encouraged....
Today I'm showcasing one of Loralie's stamps: Birdies. This was my first stamp that I picked out of her stamps at CHA. I know it may be a little known fact...but..I love birds! I'm trying to get Loralie to make an Owl stamp--I sure hope she does! It's a SWEET Saturday My Friends!!! Pack Your Bags--a Giveaway/ Message for You!

A Great Cartridge for one of YOU my amazing followers & friends!

Ever wonder what the key to happiness is? It's your attitude....that...... and being simple.
When my husband & I found out we were being transferred again, much earlier than promised...with a huge house, life implanted in FL..... we could have flipped out. We thought about it...hey! We're human!
But then we realized this was God's plan...not ours. We also realize attitude is everything...So we did what we knew was best.....
We put on a smile, grinned, sold and gave about 90% of all of our belongings..beautiful European furniture, decor, tools, my billions of books, etc...Slapped a FOR SALE sign on our beautiful 5 br home, newly landscaped yard, that took us 6 mths to haul rocks and newly grassed turf....a house we knew may never sale--it may be foreclosed upon......Did we cry? Actually no...we sighed a BREATH of relief!
We were getting "rid" of all the STUFF in life that clogs up our time, our sanity, and space....We had to leave our oldest son who has Aspergers--with my mother and father to finish up the last 2 mths of school. Oh yes, I cried over that one--and so did he...but we both made a promise that no matter where we were, our loved lived in our hearts--and doing the right thing was best.
We packed up our 42 ft RV, with maybe 5% of what we had owned--just the things we would need. We trekked three weeks across this great country of ours. We talk to our oldest son every night and sent him a package from almost every stop. We have laughed, just rolled our eyes, and realized all we ever needed...we have been right here the ENTIRE time...our love for each other.
LIFE is good--it's actually amazing!  Each time I wake up and realize I have one more day on this earth..... A day with my family, a day to serve others in this world, a day to show someone somewhere kindness, a day to create...it is SWEET. It leaves the taste of sugar (sometimes bittersweet) on our lips ...but every day is a NEW day... a new chance to make a difference, whether it be small, far away, and we may never be thanked for it...we have it. It's up to us, to decide what to do with it.
I know you are thinking, yeah easy for you to say...you aren't broke, you aren't sick, you didn't just lose someone, you just dont' know...Yeah you are right..today I may not be any of those things...but I have been...many times. My life has been bittersweet with MANY struggles...but I am a survivor! I am making it with a smile! So are YOU---you are still here--you still have a chance--you still have time!
Have a SWEET day today--relish it! If things are good right now...RELISH it!
IF they are not, PUSH thru, smile--say that PRAYER--because even in our worst--there is someone that is watching...learning from us. We will never know how many we bless in our everyday actions.
I do not make money off my blog, I buy 90% of all my blog candy, I have no dreams of being the best and most successful blogger, I am just ME. I am not beautiful, with perfect teeth & hair. I'm just a southern girl who wears flip flops and boots.
I wish I had thick hair instead of thinning hair (I might do the combover one of these days or by my dream hair)--you know one of those beehive wigs like Amy Winehouse wears. My teeth have a gap right in the front...and I've never ever been able to get a tan, and I have Wilma Flinstone feet..a big toe in the front that for years kept me from wearing sandles--how stupid is that? I dont' even wear makeup because I can't ever find anything that doesn't fall off in an hour...plus I just really don't care!
I have a pouch from 2 c-sections, and hysterectomy...I love those jeans that suck you in, and loose baby doll shirts. Oh yeah baby!
I figured I'm doing good--and even if I have to get up one day, put my false teeth in, my wig on, slide into a girdle, put in my glass eye, and slap on a pound of makeup--life is good. I'm a living--and I'm a celebrating!
ITS NOT HOW YOU LOOK-----ITS HOW YOU SEE!

God laid this on my heart to share with you--I dont' know who needs to hear it, but someone does.
Celebrate you--God loves you--you are important, and you my friend are special--a benefit to this world.
ENJOY a sweet day!
To celebrate, I want to give away a brand new cricut cartridge called PACK YOUR BAGS!
Why pack your bags? BECAUSE today is the first day of the rest of your life--pack your bags--put away those insecurities, that nagging negative feeling, any depression, gossip/whispers, that feeling of inadequacy--pack those bags away!
All you have to do...leave me a comment...tellling me one thing YOU love about yourself. Seriously...I want to hear it. You are special--you are my friend. Whether we are hundreds of miles apart, I care for you. I pray each day for my blog readers, and pray that God shows you favor. I love to answer your emails, your phone calls, laugh with you, celebrate with you, and listen to you!
So let me start.... TODAY I WILL BE HAPPY because God has given me a heart of service. that is my one thing I love about myself. My heart of service. (Oh yeah, I have to pray to keep it where it needs to be)
Have a SWEET day my special friends--Life is Waiting! Pack Your Bags, and Get Going!!!

My Pink Stamper Imagine Pink Wednesday: "For My Friend" plus Giveaway!

Hi everyone! I'm super excited to be sharing with you a card I made for Robyn of My Pink Stamper's Imagine Pink Wednesday! Every Wednesday, Robyn has an Imagine project for you, and today she invited me to do a guest design post with the Imagine. Robyn is brilliant with the Cricut--and she is a genuinely good  person. So I'm thrilled to be a part of her Imagine Pink Wednesday!
I really LOVE my Cricut Imagine, and am super glad I gave this machine a chance. However, it's going to make me "cricut fat"...heehee. It takes all the work out of making any project--I just love it!
First of all, if you are coming by my blog first, make sure you hop over to Robyn's blog: My Pink Stamper. Her blog is amazing--and if you are the only person out in the free world who has NOT been to her blog--get over there now--it's fantastic!

Better Together Cartridge Images--Look how CUTE!!
For my project today, I'm using the Better Together Cricut Imagine Cartridge. I'm also giving this cartridge away, so make sure you read this entire post, so you don't miss out on that!

For My Friend Purse Shaped Card

I made this card for my very close friend, Janice of Stamping with Janice. Janice is just an amazing friend and person--so she definitly tops my "bestie list" (heehee sorry Janice). So this card is for her!

Ingredients for My Friend Card:
My Pink Stamper Everyday Life stamp setBetter Together Cricut Imagine CartridgeWhite smooth cardstock (Bazill)
Foam dimensional dots (Helmar)
Pearl bling (Creative Charms)
Dry adhesive (Tombow-monoadhesive)
Brown or Blue grosgrain ribbon (Offray)
*I started off brown and then switched to blue on my ribbon*

Next, PLEASE forgive my choppy video! I had to edit it--gasp---to make sure it was under 15 minutes, so that is why the very first part is choppy--I had to edit it a wee bit--and as you all know, I have never edited my videos. So obviously, I need some editing experience--I will work on that! lol. It's also lower in some parts of the video--all I can say is obviously I'm a hot mess with my video--sorry Robyn!

***Better Together Giveaway*** Please leave me a comment below for the Better Together Cricut Imagine Cartridge giveaway! I'll choose one fabulous follower and announce the winner next Wednesday--so make sure you check back then for another Imagine project and the winner!

I bought my Imagine a plus size, my expression regular size, my baby bug petite size, and my gypsy--the poor thing had to shop in the children's section--but none the less, we walked out of the Cricut Cover Store with matching dresses--and in our favorite colors with our favorite motif--an owl!
I purchase these adorable "dresses" from Orlena Zinn. Orlena makes CUSTOM covers for very cheap! Say that three times fast! My Imagine was 30.00, Expression 20.00, Baby Bug 15.00, and Gypsy 10.00 with $5.00 shipping.
Now I must share with you that I am a GOOF--so I ordered all mine seperately paying shipping on each with no discount, because as my mother says, I just have to do everything the hard way..but as my father says, the best experience is bought experience....soooooo LEARN from me, and just order your covers all together..If you do, you get a discount and pay only one shipping fee! LOL

St Patrick's Day Blog Hop

Hi all my Cricky friends and readers! Top O' the Morning to Ye! I hope everyone is having a fantastic St. Patrick's Day! Let's kick this hop off with a bang!! If you are coming from fantastic Kris's blog, Creations by Kris, then you are in the right spot. If you are just starting at my blog, then make sure you hop back over to the beginning of the St Patrick's Day Blog Hop hosted by the spectacular Brynn of Flair and Frills.

For this hop, we were asked to create a St. Patrick's themed project! Well I'm on the road in my RV and I decided to give my new Imagine a whirl! I used the Imagine More Cards cartridge to print up a very quick card! I chose to give the inside of my card some special treatment. If you wanted, you could always decorate just the outside, or both! This is my first project with my Imagine, and I have to say it was painless! It was sooooo easy and fast! I am in LOVE! Rootin Tootin News from Texas

Hi everyone! Im in RURAL Texas, and I have VERY sketchy internet--it took me 2 hrs to even get on to post this super quick post! Also, Jonas is sick, and I'm spending my time nursing him back from this terrible cold he has.

When I can get to a bigger area with faster internet access, I have a fantastic video and giveaway for you! I just am so excited that I can hardly wait!

So thank you to all of you for being so awesome, patient, and amazing friends and readers! I promise when I can get to San Diego, my new home--I'll be back on track! I'm working on packing up blog candy for all winners since March 1'st--so if you've not received it, it's because I'm working hard on it--but we only stop at night for a few hours and then it's rush rush rush with family time and other design work! But I'm not forgetting you!

My poor sweet hubby has misplaced the camera charger--so I can't post pictures right now of any new blog candy till he either finds it or can locate where to purchase a new one. He's such a great guy--that seriously I can't even be concerned about it...he's a HUGE help to me, and totally understanding with my flaws, which I have soooo many! heeheeh So bless his little heart, I'm cutting him some camera slack!

If you have called my cell phone, I am not receiving messages unless we go thru a big area--right now I have no service and haven't for the past few days...so I'm sorry but it's just a crazy time!

I have some exciting things planned for next week once I can get back to "civilization".

I am still traveling--and we are still in TX, but we might make it to the tip of New Mexico tomorrow!

THANK YOU to each of you for your kind emails (I'm reading when I'm lucky to pick up the 3G network on my tablet or wifi--which is hit and miss), thoughts, and most of all prayers!

Blog Candy Winners!!!

OOOOOPs forgot to announce the My Pink Stamper blog hop winners--here we go

Scrap N Easel #30 Karen said... I just love this. I love the paper and the bird. I will have to keep an eye out for the paper. TFS and for a chance to win the blog candy

Puffies #207 Crafty kitten said... I love the card and what the puffie birdie adds to it! I've seen those in the store and they are sooo cute! Another must have!

MPS set #1 LadybugCarrie said... Love your card - the little bird is too cute! Thanks for sharing and for the chance to win! :-)

****PLEASE make sure to email me your full name, mailing addy, item won*** thanks bunches! You all ROCK!!!

Hi everyone! I hope your Tuesday is off with a bang! I want to announce a few winners today!

Now first off, I'm traveling across country in an RV with limited time to pack orders (we only stop at night) and limited chance to get to the Post Office. So this is just an "odd month" so thank you for being patient with me. I love to bless others!

Also, if you have won anything since the 1'st of March it will be going out this week too. ALL these packages will be going out, so it will take me about a week to pack all these orders.  I ship twice a month, 1'st and 15'th....When I packing up 40 or more packages, it's just exhausting! So please be patient. EVERYONE has always received their blog candy from me....IF they claimed it within the week.

Which brings me to my next point..I give out ALOT of blog candy--therefore I do not contact winners--you must contact me within ONE week to claim your prize..if not, it goes out to someone else. I just simply do not have the time in the day to run people down...not when I'm running up to 60 people a month. Thanks for understanding.

This is a ministry for me--I purchase up to 95% of all my giveaways, fund the shipping, and my time to wrap and ship them off to you with care. So patience would just be delightful. If you do not have an item, after 30 days of winning, please please email me and I will check in on it. I've only had 2 packages go bump in the night after mailing off hundreds and hundreds since beginning blogging this past July! If you win a sponsored item, I am dilligent in making sure the company sends your item--if you've not received after 30 days, then I'll continue to email till you receive. So far we have not had any issues with this either, but I just like to be super honest and throw it all out there. As my hubby says, that's the way I roll. lol

Okay whew--with all that "spill"...here we are for some fabulous goodies for some fabulous cricky readers and winners! All of the packages for today's announcement will go out by the 1'st of April, while the onces from March 1'st till now will go out this next week. I think I have 35 to mail out!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for sharing part of your day with me. I do sooooo much appreciate you, and that's why I truly LOVE having my blog--to share with you, to laugh with you, to be inspired with you, to be creative with you. Thank you so much my dear friends.

Owl wall decos--#15 Trisha said... Kristal, you are an amazing woman. I watched your video and read your write up. Just amazing. You had a quote about having it all and, I hope you don't mind, I had to copy and paste it to my Facebook. It just says it all. I did you credit for it. Good luck with your move.

Four Legged Friends Cartridge---#8 CindyLu2 said You are amazing, such a generous person, thanks for yet another opportunity to win!! And a big ole CONGRATULATIONS, for 1800 and more to come!!

Gold Paper Charms & Green Glitter Glue--#1 Naomi Arementa said My favorite memory is when we first saw each other for the first time and my future husband had a leather jacket on, flannel shirt, jeans and snow boots. When I opened the door, he was "hiding" behind his jacket and giggling, then said "Hello"! I knew then I was going to marry this man someday! Bonus: He traveled in a snowstorm with about 30 inches of snow already on the ground for about 2 hours which normally should of taken 25 minutes to come pick me up and take me to have a coffee date! What a trooper he was and still is!
My Birthday Owl Candy--#26 Green Scrap said Happy Birthday K!!! I wish you lots of craftiness and happiness!! My best birthday wish... Well I never had a real birthday and I always wanted one!

Prima Center Kisses & Clear Stamp Set--#5 Sharon said..What a cute card I hope to be making one of them soon for my daughter.

Hope is a Winged Thing....

I design for Creative Charms, and absolutely LOVE designing for this amazing company! Midori is awesome, and their products are just simply fabulous! I can't wait every month for my envelope to come and see what is NEW! Waiting to get the kit & deal is like a treasure chest--I never know what is coming! I'm always thrilled when I open it up! When I opened up my package this month--it was filled with BUTTERFLIES!

Hope is a winged thing...I have always loved this poem by Emily Dickinson. I'm sure she is speaking of a bird in particular, but to me, hope is a winged thing--that takes flight in our souls and hearts. I think for this reason, I absolutely loved winged creatures of the sort...with birds and butterflies being a favored embellishment.

This month's kit of the month: Green with Envy is filled with fabulous winged beauties! I love the delicate whispery wings of both packs of these butterflies. For my projects today, I used this month's kit: Green with Envy which has sequined butterflies, dreamgarden butterflies, beautiful flowers, gemstones, and green dotted ribbon (oh and lots more too).

Each of my cards have a different tone, but all share the hues of green and butterflies. Each one is very simple to make, taking only a few minutes. Creative Charms is the perfect accent to making simple and quick cards! Each one of my cards feature a sentiment from My Pink Stamper's Buggy Punnies.
Happiness is a Butterfly
