Fruit of the Spirit Hop: Be a Peach! Giveaway!

Welcome to another Faith Blog Hop presented to you by Paper Tree House Studio! If you have been following the hop then you should be arriving here from Lynns’s blog. If you just came across this hop, then go to Paper Tree House to catch the beginning of the hop.

Every month a group of bold women gathers to make the Name of the Lord to share the talents we have been given by Him. We also like to share a little bit of Truth that we have learned from the Bible and/or a bit about how He has impacted our lives. This month the theme is “The Fruit of the Spirit”.

As Christians we are expected to demonstrate the Fruit of the Spirit because the Spirit of God abides in us. In Galatians 5:22-23 we find the following definition: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” There are many misconceptions about this fruit. People look at the list of attributes and they are convinced that God has not given them one of the “fruits”, and so they live with remaining sin and a sense of defeat in certain areas of their lives.

If you look at the passage again you will notice that the word FRUIT is NOT plural. It is only ONE fruit, so if the Spirit of the Lord abides in you, then the attributes that characterize the Spirit live there as well. If you are not experiencing one of the characteristic of His Spirit in your life, pray that the Lord would cleanse you and purify you. He is into the business of completing those He saves. My prayer is that you would draw near to the Lord and that He in turn will draw near to you…

The same way that the Lord blesses those He loves we want to bless you. We have found an amazing line-up of sponsors and we want to share with you what you could win by hopping around with us:

Paper Tree House Studio: Cricut Create

Scrapbook News & Review Magazine: One year subscription to their online magazine.
Zutter: Distrezz-it-All
Scrapbooks & Stuff: Seasonal Cartridge
Papperie: Yummy Goody Bag
Bonita Rose: One spot to her AMAZING class on color.
Shimmerz: Yummy Goody Bag

You're a Peach by K Andrew
Supplies: Just Because Cricut Cartridge (ProvoCraft), Laughy Taffy face stamps (Peachy Keen),
Cardstock: WeRMemoryKeepers, Scalloped Edge Dot Ribbon (Creative Charms), Sentiment Stamps: Fruit & Veggie Puns (My Pink Stamper), Paper: Hometown (Doodlebug), Inks: Memento, Signo

My project for you today is one I made last week. However, it is perfect for me to share with you on this Fruit of the Spirit hop~ it's the happiest little peach in the world swinging from a peach tree~!
We are so blessed, and we can either choose to be good fruits or rotten fruits. I choose to be a good fruit that leaves a joyful taste in other's spirits. There will always be those rotten fruits who choose to leave a poisoning effect in other's hearts and spirits. However, you my sweet peachy friends, can choose to be the sweet tasting fruit by lifting other's hearts and souls with your kind words, actions, and prayers.

**GIVEAWAY** I have a sweet RAK for one of you! The stamp set I used above: Fruit & Veggie Puns by My Pink Stamper. Just make sure to leave me a comment here! 2200 Follower Thank you!!!

I just realized we hit the 100 mark again! We are at 2200 followers (2214 actually)...heehee!
Just to say thanks I want to give away a FABULOUS stamp collection by Loralie Designs!
It's the super popular Lovely Butterflies stamp set. This is a gorgeous set that so many of  you voted
to see back up here!
This always reminds me of a book I read, or thought I read--I might have made it up... It is a children's story.
It had tons of caterpillars that were always stepping on each other to try to get up to the top of a flower....because they thought they had to "step" on one another, drag eachother down, and do whatever they could to get to the "top". However, one caterpillar decided that she didn't want to step on others to get where she was going. She decided to be herself and show all the others love and compassion, even when they didn't deserve it. Guess what she did? She blossomed, and grew into a beautiful butterfly, and flew right past all of them up to the very top of that flower!
It kind of reminds me of people. You don't have to push others out of your way, or step on them to get where you are going. Well you might if you want to remain as you are, and feel rotten. However, by helping others, and showing kindness, you can blossom into someone new--someone wonderful...whose spirit is free and their heart is open filled with love and kindness. You don't have to feel "rotten" by stepping on someone else. I mean really, who wants to be around a nasty person that is always putting others down, stepping on others and doing everything they can to get to the top? What fun is that?
Not I said the butterfly. I would rather share my talents, and my gifts with you. That's why I do so many giveaways. Because I feel CALLED to inspire and bless others. You can't outgive God, and I believe it.
Just a thought from a little bitty blogger and butterfly who doesn't care if I ever get to the top...I'm enjoying my journey.
You can also click on the butterfly picture above to hop over and look at all of Loralie's gorgeous stamp sets! I have a special fun project coming Sunday with one of her amazing stamp sets that you can win!
I challenge you to go over to Loralie's and come back here and tell me which one you think I'm going to feature!
Don't forget you can subscribe to my blog and follow if you haven't already! Don't forget to leave me your blog addy if I'm not following you too--because I dont' want to miss out on flittering over there to see you too!
Have an AMAZING day my sweet bloggie friends!

Happy Easter my friends! I hope each and everyone of you is having a blessed Easter with the ones you love! He has risen! He is alive! The grave no longer has a hold on Him!

Also, Simply Sunday Challenge will pick back up next Sunday--with winners being announced, and new challenge announced. I wanted to give my GCDT members an entire week off with their family for Easter.

I am so sorry I was not able to announce PK winners yesterday, but I slipped yesterday on our rv's outside stairs, and my entire back landed right across them. My back is severely swollen and bruised, and well I just didn't feel like a flip (hahah). My hubby insisted I stay off the computer as I have to stand at ours, and out of my craft room and just rest. We did have an Easter Extravaganza and I did sneak off to take Jonas to it (rides, egg hunt, etc) and then hobbled back home! lol! All for the LOVE of our kids!

NOW...if you win, please make sure you email me within ONE week, with the volume of emails and blog candy I giveaway--I try to contact the winner, but I just can't chase people down. So if you see someone you know, pass the word! When you email, send me your full name, addresss, and item won (I'm senile with all the giving I do!)

IF you have WON Anything in the last 2 weeks, I'm trying to pack it all up (I have 30 packages going out at least)....so it should be all packed up and ready to go out tomorrow. As always, I will send you an email confirmation when your goodies ship. I do all the packing out myself, so try to give me a bit of patience if you can. Thanks bunches!

He thinks I need to take a weekly trip there for some reason...so since it was such a BUSY family day, I decided to go EASY and SIMPLE. Yes this is a 10 minute card at the most. Not even a cricut cut on this baby!

Pop It Up--Life is Good!! Big Peachy Keen Giveaway!

Happy as Peach...that's what I am today! It's my last day as Peachy Keen Guest Designer, and it has been a wonderful week! I have enjoyed it and look forward to seeing what all the other amazing PK Guest Designers have for us. I have to say that Peachy Keen was awesome to allow so many people to have a turn at being a PK designer! They are truly a wonderful US based family business---it doesn't get any better than that!
My last post today for you is a very quick and easy project that will delight your family as you sit down to movie or story night! Yes we do this for story time as we don't watch much tv!
PS The story behind this box....the two "goofy" smaller kernels are my boys Jasper and Jonas--Jonas is on the bottom left (he wanted to make sure you knew that), and Jasper at the top right. I am Big Mama in the middle. Yes my boys call me Big Mama sometimes, and my grandmother Big Granny. No they have never seen the movie (they are not allowed). They came up with that all their own...lucky me, huh? hahah!
I also have made up 4 of these as my little one Jonas, has three little friends from the campground over to visit him sometimes. There are two little girls and one boy that are brother and sisters. The little girls love being creative, and are just amazed with my craft room. They also love that special attention they get when they come over. In 15 minutes, I have a lot of these to share with them, and I just know the little girls are going to LOVE this girly popcorn with the boy (don't worry the boys will get bow-ties, if any bows--lol)

I used the super cute Happy Lash faces (pk460) & Pumpkin Faces(pk550).
 Popcorn Delight (3D popcorn box)
Supplies: 3d popcorn boxes (Michaels), Stamps: Peachy Keen (Happy Lash, Pumpkin Faces), My Pink Stamper (The Sweetest Cupcakes), Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Ink: Memento, Copics, Ribbon: Creative Charms

I wanted to note how happy these popcorn pieces look! Isn't that the truth? A popcorn kernel starts out as a corn kernel that goes thru immense heat and pressure to blossom into a lovely yummy popcorn piece!
Life is like that sometimes, isn't it? We go thru alot of heat and pressure in life...we can be like the triumphant popcorn and blossom into something greater or we can be like the duds..the ones that sit there and refuse to "grow" from the life learning experience.
I bet you have went thru a very hot and pressure intense learning experience at some point in your life. What did you choose to do? Did you choose to be triumphant and blossom?
Regardless, the next time, you are under pressure...remember the lowly popcorn kernel...and remember, that only thru pressure and heat, can it blossom into a fluffy piece of heaven and provide someone enjoyment.
CHOOSE today to be triumphant in any "hard" experience. That experience will help you blossom into a softer, stronger, and more delightful person--who will bring joy to others, but mostly to your maker. It's always so much nicer to find a fluffy yummy piece of popcorn instead of a kernel dud. Don't you agree? Dont' be the kernel that cheats yourself, and get's thrown out of the mix! Be the triumphant popcorn that brings pleasure!
Life is good, and what we make of it. Choose today to meet those times under pressure with open arms--it's a learning experience, and one that no doubt, my sweet friend, will make some part of you blossom into the person you are meant to be. Life is a series of "opportunities" to grow into a better person...the one God menat for you to be.
Have a fabulous Friday my friends, and thank you so much for sharing a bit of your day with me!

Peachy Giveaway--Today I'm giving away this BIG Peachy Keen set: Happy Lashes Assortment! I'm giving away a PK stamp set for every day I was here at PK, so if you missed any of my posts, please make sure you go check them out. I'll draw a winner for all PK stamp sets, and announce all 5 winners on my blog, Saturday! Just make sure to leave me a comment here AND at the Peachy Keen Blog!
Thank you so much for being absolute peaches this week, and letting me share with you! I hope you will make sure to roll on over to the Peachy Keen Blog and leave me some peachy pie lovin' there too!
Don't forget you can also subscribe to and follow my blog! I'd love if you grabbed my blinkie too! I would just LOVE it if you did!

Creating Keepsakes: 3D Paper Basket plus Giveaway!

Hi all my sweet Cricky Readers! Guess what? I'm so excited I could burst! This is my Guest Design Post for Creating Keepsakes Magazine!

With the Easter season approaching, many of us are planning easy to give favors and dreaming of baskets, baskets, and more baskets! So I thought I would share my favorite 3d basket tutorial with you, so you can make some inexpensive and quick baskets to share with your family and friends. It's a snap to make this basket, so all Easter Bunnies can join in the fun. Let's get started!
3D Paper Basket: Rain or Shine by K Andrew

As shown in my Rain or Shine above, this 3d basket is made from something we all have in our stash: scrapbook paper! All you need is a scor-board, ruler, bone folder, and paper! I've decided to include a template shown below, so you can print this template out to remember each step when you sit down to make your own 3d basket.
(The red lines are all score lines, while circles are hole-punches)

Now that you have your template for print and remember at home, let's view my quick step by step tutorial on making your own 3d basket from your favorite double-sided scrapbook card stock.

Here's how to do it:
*Place a 12x12 piece of paper on score-board. Score at 4" and 8".
*Flip the 12x12 piece of paper sideways and score at 4" and 8"
*Score each outside square (4 total) diagonally.
*Fold each of the equal 9 scares crisply along the lines
*Fold each outside square that has been diagonally scored together to form a triangle
*Here is how your folded lines should all look
*Bring the outside four diagonally scored squares together toward the center.
*Set an eyelet in each triangle fold
*This is how your basket should be taking shape

*Tie a ribbon in each eyelet hole joining the four triangular folded squares into the center
*Decorate each side as desired, and fill with your choice of goodies

I've also made an accompanying video to demonstrate how I made the 3d basket if you are
a scrap booker who learns by doing.

Now your basket is complete!
Rain or Shine 3D Paper Basket by K Andrew
Supplies: Cardstock & Tag: It's Raining, It's Pouring line by Nikki Sivils. Ribbon: May Arts. Eyelets: We R Memory Keepers.

"Can't" isn't in my vocabulary. Peachy Keen GD week, Giveaway!!

"An Apple is a terrific thing--until you tried a peach".

Good Morning my Peachy friends! It's day 4 of my 5 day reign as Peachy Keen Guest Design Week, and I've definitly enjoyed my visit to Peachy-land! Who agrees? Once you've had Peachy Keen stamps, you are spoiled.... No diecut will ever be the same, without a sweet peachy face on it!

What Odds by K Andrew
Supplies: Cartridge: Gypsy, Basketball Cricut Cartridge (Provocraft), Stamps: Medium Critter Faces (Peachy Keen), Sentiment: Computer, Cardstock: Bazill Basics Paper, Ink: Memento, White Signo Pen, Copic International, Ribbon: Jo-Ann Essentials

I've always made a total effort,
even when the odds seemed entirely against me.
I never quit trying;
I never felt that I didn't have a chance to win.
-Arnold Palmer

This card is for my dear Jasper. My sweet boy who has Aspergers...who loves to play basketball, but isn't the shining star when he plays. He called me today, and I could tell he wasn't feeling very confident. I said, what's wrong (I could immediately tell in his voice). He said, EVERYTHING. I knew right then, my sweet, quirky, brilliant, socially odd, artistic, and amazing boy needed a "boost". So I made him this card tonight, after giving him a pep talk that had him laughing at the end, and waiting on the package that I just shipped to him yesterday. I've made this card before, but this time, I had purpose. That quote above is what I typed on the inside. I simply ran the card thru the printer to print it on nicely.
Ever have one of those days? You just don't fit in? Nothing seems to be going your way? You know the kind of day, when you aren't the smartest, the fastest, the most popular, and you just feel at a disadvantage? Yeah, me too. As a child and even adult, I've had them alot. I've always had a very big heart, and will generally be nice to a rock if given a chance (God says even the rocks cry out to him). However, it's not been something people usually respect. Being nice doesn't get you invited to the cool events, or illicit much of a response in the general scheme of things. Why? Oh because it's not exciting..and people wonder, why is she so nice? lol! There must be something wrong with her. However, as an adult, I've learned to appreciate the talents God has given me and to use them for His purpose. I will never be popular, and have no desire to. "I yam, what I yam" as Popeye says.
However, when you are 10...you are not quite able to say that to yourself. It's okay that I'm different, it's okay if I don't make the team, or make friends, or get invited...it's just hard being different...or at a disadvantage. When you see the world thru a total different sort of lenses, it's rough.
However, I know one day Jasper will get there. His difference will make him great and he will appreciate his own talent to do the desires of God's heart...to seek out the purpose for which he was formed.
So when you feel down, or like giving up, remember this quote...

I've always made a total effort,
even when the odds seemed entirely against me.
I never quit trying;
I never felt that I didn't have a chance to win.
-Arnold Palmer

My peachy giveaway today is this ADORABLE set: pk-543 Itty Bitty Snow Faces. I wanted to make sure to offer some type of seasonal face stamp too...and this one is just one of my favorites! Make sure to leave me a comment here AND at the Peachy Keen Blog to enter to win. I'm giving away a face set each day, so if you missed my previous 3 posts, go back and leave a comment. Tomorrow I'm offering a BIG set, and then Saturday I'll draw winners for all 5 PK stamp sets! Woot! Woot!
PS these face stamps look awesome on vegetables and scarecrows too! Don't forget, you can always use a marker (waterbased--like Stampin Up, Zig) to color in the features you want, and just not color in the one you don't want. Like for instance, the first face, I've colored in and just not used the carrot nose--then just added a small upside down u for a nose--super cute!!!

Don't forget to be a super sweet peach and roll on over to the Peachy Keen Blog, and give me some peachy-pie lovin' over there! Dont' forget also that you can follow or subscribe if you wish to my blog.
I'd love it if you did, and would love to do the same for you. One good peach deserves another...
are you guys tired of my Peachy analogies yet? Sad thing? I have about a million more! heehee

Have a GREAT day my Peachy Friends, and know that can't isn't in your vocabulary. You CAN do it, and you CAN beat any odds....because you my friend are exactly WHO you should be.

Big Hugs & Love,
Kristal

Fruit of the Spirit--What Kind are You? Guest Design Week for Peachy Keen Stamps plus Giveaway!

Hello to each of you my  dear sweet peachy friends!
I have the sweetest and simplest project for you today! This little peach has decided to go a swingin'! She is having a grand time, can't you see her big smile? I just love her laughing face! Sure she's taking a chance climbing down so far and into that swing, but hey, you have to go out on a limb--that's where the sweetest fruit is! You have to take a chance in life, and live life to the fullest, for as you know we are not promised tomorrow. Sure you might get hurt, but if you don't take the chance....you don't live! Let's live today! Let's laugh and love our hardest, even if it means going out on the edge and forgiving someone, biting our tongue, helping someone when we are super busy, going that extra step to be kind to someone who may not deserve it...because really...do any of us deserve it?
That's what determines a bitter tasting fruit, and a sweet tasting one--what's on the inside. Outside may be beautiful, but it's what inside that counts--it's what inside when you are under pressure--that's what makes the sweetest sauce...Do you crack under pressure, or do you gracefully stand your ground? What kind of fruit will you be today? Decide today to be the sweet fruit that leaves a pleasurable taste in your family and friend's life. Your spirit is in need of sweetness.
Ever have a friend, that likes to be a rotten apple? You know the one who likes to gossip, or just criticize others? Ever notice if you ONLY talk nice about someone, that you feel good inside? That's becuase you are good down to the core. If you are rotten to the core, your spirit is affected. It's actually damaging to your spirit to be around those who are "rotten"...hang around in a bag of rotten tomatoes, what are you going to get? Think about it the next time, you are around someone and they start to say something negative about someone else--think to yourself. Is this person's spirit in the right place? Are they a good fruit, the kind that will nourish my spirit, and leave a good taste in my mouth? If not, steer clear...remove yourself from that person but pray for that person. Only a miserable person is rotten. A truly happy and joyful spirit doesn't want to tear down others...instead they would rather sing praises and build others up. That is my purpose for this card...a call to be a good fruit...take a chance, and nourish your spirit, but protect it from those out there that would like to "wither" your sweet fruit of a spirit.

Peachy Keen Guest Design Week 15: Day 2 with PK Challenge, Stamp set Giveaway!!!

Apples are red, plums are blue, Peachy Keen is sweet, and so are you!

Welcome back to another peachy day! Today, I was able to play along with the other fabulous Peachy Keen designers for the Tuesday Challenge. We were asked to use this sketch as show below:

I decided to use my super "tweet" Happy Bird set (pk-267) to make a super quick card to celebrate Peachy Keen's 50'th Challenge! The trick was to use gold! I took this "golden"opportunity (heehee) to use the sketch to it's maximum. It took me 15 minutes to make this card, and I think it turned out really cute!!! However, the stamp set is the tweetest thing I've ever seen! It includes the happiest little bird in the world and two sentiments on that yummy peachy polymer! This little bird is my alter ego--because I too believe in being as happy as you can be. Life is wonderful my sweet peachy friends!!

I am not a great shader/colorer unfortunately. It's just something I dont' focus on alot. I'm more of a coloring book girl. You know color in the lines, and call it a day? heee! That's me! However, I love this bird stamp because I could color it in shades of gold/browns, and voila! I think for a 20 minute card (including cutting time for scallop/coloring of image) it is simply Tweet-tastic!
