Disney Pixar Blog Hop plus Giveaway!!!

Today I want to share a Title strip that I made with you using a free Disney themed font, and then a photo frame I created using Scal with my silhouette! I'm taking my boys to Disney the 8'th of October, and this will come in quite handy!!! I use Amy Chomas' gel pen set in my silhouette to make this!!!
I've made this before, and I gave it away to one of my friends! So I made a new one last night to highlight our Disney Trip in just two weeks!!! I love this because do you see that little Mickey Head? It's like a little lock, and you can put it on the page on a journaling and have teh card flip up--really really neat!!!!

Best Witches using TREATS from Creative Charms--Giveaway!!!

Hello Thursday, Hello World! I hope each of you are having a wonderful & charmed Thursday! I am super excited to be sharing with you some more goodies from Creative Charms....my favorite manufacturer for unique embellishments!
I wanted to whip up a quick Halloween card for my mama! Believe it or not, her and my daddy got married on Halloween...who does that? Not to mention, my maiden name is Adams...quirky and cooky..right? snap, snap...hahah!

Isn't it spooky sweet? My mama and daddy have been married for 42 (somehow this got changed to 30--but I'm 36--so they have been married 42--lol) years and they TRULY love each other. I see that their love has grown more and more--it's a rare and special love. Most people aren't willing to stick it out and really take the challenge of TRULY loving someone for that long--but they are the exception-and a beautiful one at that!

So best witches mama and daddy...if I ever get married again (NOT!) maybe it will have to be on Halloween...there's got to be some magic in the air--hahah!

Tutorial: Candy Crayons: Who wants to EAT some crayons!!!!

Candy Crayons

WHO IS A CRAYON EATER? Fess up...who liked to eat crayons when they were little? what about glue? hahah! Okay I must confess I never liked the taste of wax or glue...but I do love these crayons! These crayons are soooo yummy! These crayons are pretzels that are dipped in colored chocolate & wrapped up in lovely paper wrappers!

Okay now...admit it...who wants to eat some crayons, now? lol! Me...me...me (hand raised--waving in air).  Pick me, Pick me!!!

BUNCHES of CRAYONS:

TONS of crayons for my little ones classes! I can't wait to see what the kids think when my little one passes these out..Wait you mean we can EAT these crayons? WHAT?

I found this yummy creation on The Gourmet Mom--and just fell in LOVE with them! She even has printable wrappers of all kinds! You can print these off on colored paper, and they are customizable! eeeek--does it get any better than this??

Jonas birthday is this week on the 21'st...so I wanted to make some SUPER cute little snack bags for him to pass out to his class...and for his class treat I'm making cupcakes that look like apples--eeek--that's going to be soooo fun!!!

What do you need to make turn your kids into Crayon Eaters?

1. Pretzel Rods

2. White Chocolate

3. Food Coloring

4. Shortening

5. Colored paper, templates, printer

Directions: Break pretzel rods in half. Melt 1 cup of white chocolate chips for 1 minute; stir in food coloring. If chocolate becomes too stiff, you may a little shortening in--or reheat for 15 seconds at a time. Dip pretzels into the chocolate (only the ends). Put on waxed paper to cool. After cooling in the refrigerator for 15 minutes, then wrap pretzels in the colored wrapper.

When: Now – October 10, 2011

Details: Creative Charms is looking for self-motivated and creative designers to design projects twice a month for the Creative Charms blog. This position will begin on November 1st with a three-month initial contract. Design team members are compensated with $30/month of Creative Charms products.



We are looking for designers that meet the following criteria:

· have an active personal blog with a following of at least 100 members

· be active on Facebook and at least 2 other “gallery” sites (2peas, CK, etc)

· able to work within a short time frame

· able to post at least twice a month on the Creative Charms blog

· creative in scrapbooking, card making and altered projects

· previous design team experience (preferred but not required)

· published in print magazines (preferred but not required)

· name and mailing address (US mailing addresses only)

· link to your personal blog

· links to any design team that you currently serving

· three (3) photos of your best original projects or link to on-line gallery

· list of all design teams that you have been a member

So What was  your weekend like? Anything exciting happen? I'd love to hear about your weekend. Mine was VERY busy! My sister and I hung out Friday night & enjoyed Chinese and planning our week. We started making the Candy Crayons Friday night, and then it took me the rest of the weekend to finish all 300 of them! I made enough for both boys and Amelie's class (my niece--she is 3). Featured blogger Thursday ~

Howdy gang!  Faith here from Faithfule Creations!  Long before I was selected to be on the Getting Cricky Design Team, I was asked to be a guest blogger.  Kristal and I weren't able to get it arranged before the DT Call came and then I applied and was chosen for that and so here I am now as a guest designer here at Getting Cricky.  YAY!  Thanks for the honor and privilege of being a guest designer as well Kristal.  I appreciate you more than you know.

As you, Kristal's loyal readers know, she recently released 3 new stamp sets.  My favorite of the newest release is Scripture Sayings.  I made this card with myself in mind.  I am really going through a refiner's finer right now and needed this reminder more than ever before.

Indeed it is true...blessed are those who persevere.  Life is pretty dark and gray sometimes isn't it?  I am so grateful for this promise that I will be blessed if I persevere.  It is little tender mercies like this that allow me to face each day...moment by moment or sometimes minute by minute.  I choose to persevere, despite how difficult doing so has now become.

For this project I used mainly pieces from my scrap boxes of ribbon and paper.  The paper that is used as a background though comes from the Glam Girl stack from DCWV...it's my favorite stack ever.  I have 12 of them...my family thinks I'm crazy but what if I use it all up and can't get anymore anytime soon right?!?!?  Is it hoarding still if you actually USE your stuff and know exactly what you have...it is...ok then I will admit it...I am a paper hoarder.  A proud one at that.

In addition to scraps of ribbon and paper, I used my Grand Calibur and Spellbinders.  My eCraft is currently out of commission...my how I miss it.  C'mon new power cord hurry up and get here already sheesh!  Anyway....  I think the sets I used were classic circles small and heart circles.  I also used a border die but I forget what it's called right now and can't easily look it up.  I started with a standard card base then cut about an inch and a half off the front of the card, added the spellbinder border, and matted the inside of the card with a white standard 5.25 by 4 inch piece.  The mat on the front is 5.25 by 3, the bow was tied using my hideously ugly bow board and adhered using a piece of lavender
velvety ribbon.  The sentiment comes from Scripture Sayings....it's so incredible.  If you havent' see it, check it out:

Creatively Charming Journal Cards: GIVEAWAY!!!

Hi everyone! I have a super quick post for you today! I was delighted to receive the Pink & Black Kit from Creative Charms this month. I have been making a prayer journal for myself, to tuck in my thoughts, quotes, and prayers. I wanted to share with you one of my journaling cards so you could see it.
