Welcome to the "Let's Get Wild" Getting Cricky Blog Hop!!
Hi everyone! I'm SO excited for this month's blog hop!! We are featuring projects created by the kids in our lives!! It's never to early to start them crafting!! Because WHO isn't WILD about their kids??? I know I SURE am WILD over my artsy bunch! I have two amazing little men and two amazing little women nieces--and everyone of them love to get artsy with me. In fact my two little nieces, LOVE to get into my craft room!!!
This week my kids went to ART camp which is fabulous because in our school district the children have NO art or music. Many of my students who have that creative flair really miss out...I see so many kids who are not as academically inclined, but LOVE art..and they really blossom when they are exposed to art and creative techniques!
My niece and two boys created some awesome art...and my son Jasper the oldest is going to show you how to make a duct-tape rose tonight on Ustream!
Amelie's Duct Tape Flower (SEE Jasper below show you how to create one)
3D Flowers from Duct-Tape

Kristal & Jonas "One Smart cookie" Favor Bag
Jonas and I created this adorable cookie favor bag for his niece Amelie. We used the Sew Much fun (all the stitching, buttons--arrows) and the Even More Food for Thought stamp set. Isn't it adorable??? I LOVE the new Sew Much Fun set because it has sentiments PLUS stitches you can just stamp on and shape--I bent mine around to go around the circle!!!

ReplyDeleteFuture talk show host!!!!!!!!!!!!will try the duct tape flower. thanks
Kristal, It's great to see you back online. I tried to follow your UStream video and chat but kept losing it , probably due to my satellite internet connection. Anyway, I also love sharing my craft room and toys with kids , in this case my grandkids, and I love what yours have done. Most kids really do love art projects . I think it's really sad that schools have had so many cut backs that art and music programs aren't available. When I went to elementary school we didn't even have to provide our own paper and pencils and we had free access to so many different kinds of art supplies....things sure have changed since then. Your kids are so lucky to have a crafty lady like you for their mom and I'm sure your students are just as fortunate to have you for their teacher. I bet you'll be one they will remember for a lifetime just as I remember some of mine. Looking forward to seeing more from you and your kids this summer !
ReplyDeleteAwww the kids did a great job! Love those adorable photos and projects! You have a little video star on your hands with Jasper! I will have to let my kiddos watch that video in the morning..they love to see other kids that like to craft like they do! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
HL
Wow they all 3 did a fabulous job. It is a shame that our schools fail to see the importance of arts and music.
ReplyDeleteAlready follow you. Wish you would stop by my blog at some point.
Hopping on over to the next on the list.
Hugs

WOW! Amazing projects boys!!! Kristal, your boys have definitely inherited your amazing talent. I have got to find the recording of the ustream last night - my internet is just too slow :( I need to see how to make those flowers!!! I have just loved this hop - so many talented kids!!! On a side note - how sad our children are losing that outlet in school. Art and Music help make us all rounded individuals...and help us to explore our talents. Not to mention the "therapy" benefits! ARGH!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kristal for this amazing hop and opportunity to allow our 'little artists' to shine!

ReplyDeleteI love that you included the kids and their projects :) I am a teacher and agree that art and music are as important as math and reading. Thanks for a chance to win the easel- it would come in so handy at home and school.
