The second ODI match of the 3-match series between India and New Zealand is being played in Auckland today, February 8.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl. New Zealand were 273 for the loss of 8 wickets while batting first.

Newzealand got to a flying start from their 2 openers and were playing steadily . But  chahal got the breakthrough in the 17th over and the Newzealand innings collapsed from there. But,in the death over , debutant Jamieson built a decent partnership with Ross Taylor and took Newzealand's score over 250runs. Opener Martin Guptil scored79 runs from 79balls for New Zealand, and veteran batsman Ross Taylor once again played an unbeaten innings of 73 runs.

Chahal took 3 wickets and Shardul Thakur took 2 wickets and Jadeja got 1 wicket.

Jasprit Bumrah's poor performance continues

Bumrah gave away 64 runs in 10 overs in this ODI and did not get a single breakthrough. In the last ODI, Bumrah had given up 53 runs in 10 overs and there was not a single wicket for him. Bumrah not getting wickets and leaking runs is a matter of concern for the Indian team as he is their main bowler. He is the top ranked bowler in the ICC ODI rankings right now. So, expectations are high from him.

Even in the third ODI against Australia, Bumrah did not get a single wicket in the 10-overs bowling. This is the first time in Bumrah's ODI career that he did not get a single wicket in 3 consecutive ODIs.

In addition, looking at Bumrah's 2020 performance, he has played 5 ODIs in which he can take only 1 wicket.
That's really a very embarrassing stat for a bowler like Jasprith Bumrah .

Jadeja creates history

Spin bowler Ravindra Jadeja bagged 1 wicket for 35 runs in 10 overs in the match. Jadeja has done this for the fourth time when he gave up less than 35 runs in 10 overs and with this Jadeja became the first Indian spin bowler to concede 35 or less runs in 4 matches. For the last few months, Jadeja has been in a decent form with both bat and ball and fixed his spot in the team for both the White ball and red ball format. Meanwhile, he scored a halfcentury in this second ODI and took his team close to victory but couldn't finish it off and got out in the end.

What do you think has not been the edge of Jasprit Bumrah's bowling since he returned to injury. Give your thoughts in comments.
