 Today in this article, we are going to tell you about the top-5 batsmen who scored 9000 runs in the lowest balls in ODIs. These players were the quickest to score 9000 ODI runs not in terms of innings played but in terms of the number of balls played by them .



 5. Sanath Jayasuriya

 The great Sri Lankan batsman Sanath Jayasuriya is at number 5 in this list.  He played 445 ODIs in which he scored 13430 runs.  Jayasuriya completed 9000 ODI runs in 291 innings and 10125 balls. He started his career as a bowler in international cricket but turned out to be a tremendous batsman with passing time . He is one of the few players in world cricket to play more than 400 ODI matches for his country.



 4. Rohit Sharma


 The fourth batsman in this list is India current opener Hitman Rohit Sharma.  Which has so far scored 9115 runs in 224 ODIs at an average of 49.30. He is the only player in the world to have scored three double century in ODIs. He is currently the 2nd ranked batsman in ODIs.

 Rohit took 217 innings and 10124 balls to score 9000 runs in ODIs.



 3. Virat Kohli


 India's current captain Virat Kohli is at number 3 in this list.  Who has scored 11867 runs in 248 ODIs so far.  Virat completed 9000 runs in 194 innings and 9844 balls in ODIs. He is termed as all time great ODI batsman in the history. He is also the top ranked batsman in ODIs according to latest rankings.


 2. Adam Gilchrist


 Australia's Storm batsman Adam Gilchrist is at number 2 in this list.  He played 287 ODIs for Australia, scoring 9619 runs.  Gilchrist took 261 innings to complete 9000 runs and faced 9351 balls.



 1. AB de Villiers


 And the batsman who scored 9000 runs in the lowest balls in ODIs is AB de Villiers in South Africa, who played 228 ODIs, scoring 9577 runs.  AB took 205 innings to score 9000 runs and faced only 9005 balls. He is the most dangerous batsman in modern day cricket according to many cricket experts.
